Effectual Calling

Effectual calling is the work of God's Word and Spirit whereby, in His appointed time, He calls His elect out of their state of sin and death to grace and salvation by Jesus Christ, enlightening their minds, taking away their heart of stone, and renewing their wills, so that they come to Christ most freely, being made willing by His grace.
